Radar target simulator
AMG043-006B
The RTS AMG043-006B creates a calibrated echo at a given distance for a programmable rate. The response is continuous or pulsed at a rate of 3 s ON and 3 s OFF.
The 12 V powered version can be supplied as a stand-alone unit in a carrying case for installation checks.
The AMG043-006B simulator generates a delayed Doppler signal. The signal amplitude is fixed, the Doppler frequency is programmable in steps of 1Hz up to 30kHz. Setting up the simulation parameters is done with a computer using the easy to handle software provided with the device.
The distance is simulated by a coaxial delay line of 10m. The Radio Cross Section (RCS) can be calculated by using the technical characteristics of the simulator and the mesuring distance, as follows:
Ds: distance between the simulator and the radar (m)
Dr: distance between the radar and the target (m)
Lambda: wavelength (m)
Sigma: RCS (m2)
Gse: radar emission antenna gain
Gsr: radar reception atenna gain
Gs: simulator gain including cable losses
